Lagoons participation in the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2014
At the meeting, that was held from 27th April to 2nd May in Vienna, Austria, the Lagoons member, Anastassi Stefanova made an oral presentation entitled “Impacts of climate change on water flow in four European lagoon watersheds” integrated in session “OS2.3 Oceanography at coastal scales. Modelling, coupling and observations”. The convener from this session was Sandro Carniel and it was chaired by Agustin S. Archilla and Georg Umgiesser.

‘OS2.5 – Lagoon under a Changing Climate’, EGU – European Geosciences Union in Vienna (Austria).  This forum will be on 27 April – 02 May 2014.

Natural Capital Project Annual Meeting & Training (NatCap)
The Natural Capital Project (NatCap) aims to integrate the values of nature into all major decisions affecting the environment and human well-being. [It is a] partnership combining research innovation at Stanford University and the University of Minnesota with the global reach of conservation science and policy at The Nature Conservancy and the World Wildlife Fund”. The 2014 NatCap Annual Meeting and Training will be held at Stanford University, California, USA from Wednesday, March 26th to Friday, March 28th 2014. Participants will be shown novel ways to use NCap’s software (including the latest InVEST models and their newest software, RIOS), and receive help from their scientists, programmers and policy experts. The meeting agenda also includes numerous opportunities to network with others visiting from around the world and attendees the opportunity to present posters on their latest work for the evening session on March 26th.

This meeting will take place from 26 to 28 of March, 2014 at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. Further information at –

3 International conferences of PRISMA Project
The PRISMA project aims to promote the use of risk assessments and risk management plans at both local and regional levels. During the project implementation, the five project partners will test the methods of risk management developed during the MiSRaR project, which was financed by the Interreg IVC. March 12th – Stara Zagora, Bulgaria; April 15th – Tallinn, Estonia; May 15th – Aveiro, Portugal.

The CIRCLE-2 network invites abstract submissions to its final conference “Adaptation Frontiers: Conference on European Climate Change Adaptation Research and Practice” on the 10th-12th March 2014 in Lisbon. The conference aims to share the results of 10 years of European cooperation in climate change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation research, and to pave the way for the development of new research in support of climate change adaptation in Europe in the next decade.
